1 dead, 1 injured after car crashed into utility pole near Siesta Key Beach

SARASOTA COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — One person died and another was injured after a car crashed into a utility pole near Siesta Key Beach Wednesday morning, according to the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office.

The accident happened around 2 a.m. in the area of ​​Beach Road and Midnight Pass Road, officials said.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, the driver of the vehicle died and the passenger was injured.

All lanes of Beach Road at Siesta Key Beach were closed until just before 7:30 a.m., officials said.
