18-year-old killed in Hernando County utility pole crash

BROOKSVILLE, Fla. (WFLA) — An 18-year-old Brooksville man died in a car accident early Monday morning, police officers said.

According to a Florida Highway Patrol report, the driver was traveling eastbound on Wiscon Road east of SR-50 around 3 a.m. when he lost control of his Nissan Sentra.

According to the FHP, the teenager’s vehicle went off the freeway and crashed into a stop sign before crashing into a utility pole.

According to the report, the driver died at the scene of the accident.
