2023 Super Bowl ad is all about the beer

As always, no matter who plays in the super bowl, The real winners will always be the companies that make and sell beer. And for those lucky enough to be born outside of the areas that make you a lifelong Eagles or Chiefs fan, this year’s Super Bowl seems like a bumpy duel between two teams that don’t typically make it out of the playoffs in a more competitive year for the NFL. For football addicts who still want to make this an entertaining spectacle, the Associated Press has good news: This year’s Super Bowl has officially sold out all of its advertising space, with most of the seats bought by beer companies.

This is a departure from last year’s “Crypto Bowl,” which saw celebrities peddling all manner of cryptocurrencies and bitcoins and other alternative smart investments. In fact, this has been such a successful year for crypto that Larry David and Tom Brady have been officially named in a class action lawsuit for appearing in Super Bowl ads for fraudulent cryptocurrency exchange FTX.

And while even the newest investors might have been wary of trusting Brady, whose claims of a career as a con artist in the field and recent visit to Instagram to attract women en masse might make one wonder about his moral compass, Larry David has drawn one loyal successor Curb your enthusiasm playing a version of yourself that adheres to a strict code of ethics.

Part of the reason beer is so big this year is because Anheuser Busch ditched its deal to be the game’s sole alcohol sponsor. This has opened the gates to the likes of Heineken, Molson Coors and international alcohol conglomerate Diageo, which owns a range of brands from Jameson whiskey to Guinness stout beer.

Anheuser Busch, the brewer of Budweiser and Michelob, still bought the most airtime with three minutes of advertising time. Their Budweiser Clydesdales have been an iconic presence at the Super Bowl ever since their spooky post-9/11 advert in which the horses kneel toward Ground Zero.
