After the Kansas City Chiefs clinched an exciting last-second win over the Cincinnati Bengals in the AFC Championship game, the Super Bowl 57 matchup is set. KC meets the NFC champions Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, February 12 at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, AZ.
The opening line places the Eagles as one-point betting favorites.

The total has opened at 49.5, its lowest since 2018.
Eagles dominate shorthanded 49ers
The Eagles completely dominated the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship Game, but their 31-7 win is an asterisk. Niner’s QB Brock Purdy was forced out early in the first quarter with an elbow injury.
Purdy, a rookie, only started because Trey Lance and Jimmy Garoppolo were already out. Fourth stringer Josh Johnson played the rest of the first half, walking just 7/13 for 74 yards, no touchdowns and two sacks. Purdy returned in the second half but was obviously injured and only threw two more passes.
The Philadelphia defense did what it had to do against a one-dimensional attack from the 49ers, limiting the Niners to 164 total yards (83 passing yards on 18 attempts and 81 rushing yards on 24 attempts).
Philly’s own attack did what he normally does, relentlessly pounding the ball to the ground. The Eagles finished with 148 rushing yards on a whopping 44 tries. After taking the lead and it was obvious that San Francisco’s offense would be severely curtailed, the Eagles ran even harder than usual to keep the clock ticking.
The Eagles’ league-leading pass rush recorded another three sacks.

Chiefs survive Bengal
Losing three straight games to Cincinnati, the Chiefs earned a narrow 23-20 win Sunday night thanks to a 45-yard field goal from Harrison Butker with just three seconds left.
It seemed like the Chiefs were about to let another lead slide against the Bengals in the second half after letting a 13-6 halftime lead fizzle out in the last two quarters. But the defense came up with a game-saving stop on Cincinnati’s final drive to give Patrick Mahomes and company a chance to redeem themselves.
A noticeably limping Mahomes threw 326 yards on a 29/43 pass with two touchdowns and no picks. A brave last-minute run in third and fourth set up the Butker game-winner, helped by a personal foul penalty from Joseph Ossai, who shoved Mahomes after running out of bounds.
The Chiefs will need every minute of the two-week break before the Super Bowl to recover. Not only was Mahomes suffering from an ankle injury, the team also saw star cornerer L’Jarius Sneed go down with a head injury and Mecole Hardman retire with what appeared to be a worsening pelvic injury.
All-Pro tight end Travis Kelce had been ruled questionable before kick-off but managed to play the entire game.

Eagles and Chiefs Super Bowl Story
The Eagles eventually won their first Super Bowl in franchise history in the 2017-18 season, with Nick Foles leading the team to an unlikely win over Tom Brady and the New England Patriots as a 4.5-point underdog.
Philadelphia has two other Super Bowl appearances, losing to the Patriots in 2005 and the Oakland Raiders in 1981.
The Chiefs are 2-2 in the Super Bowl and this is their third appearance in four years. Kansas City defeated San Francisco 31-20 in Super Bowl 54 but lost 31-9 to Tampa Bay the next season. Their previous Super Bowl appearances came in 1967 when they lost the opening game to Green Bay and 1970 when they defeated Minnesota.
