Season 2 of And just like that… Filming is scheduled to begin in the fall. During the HBO Max reboot of Sex and the City won’t air until later in 2023, fans of the original series already know what they want to see from the show’s second season. We think there are a few old love interests that should resurface, if not necessarily romantically. There’s also an old flame that we think the series can live without.
A cameo from Smith Jerrod could easily fill Samantha Jones’ void
According to fans, one of the biggest issues with the first season of HBO Max was the absence of Samantha Jones. Kim Cattrall was not invited back to reprise her role. Tensions between Cattrall and the rest of the cast have been newsworthy for years, and showrunner Micheal Patrick King has made it absolutely clear that Cattrall will not be returning. However, your character will remain present in digital form.
If we can’t have Samantha Jones, maybe her most iconic love could make a comeback. Smith Jerrod was just one of two men who managed to get Samantha into a committed relationship, and he remains a fan favorite. Bringing Smith back, even for a cameo, maybe to talk about Samantha, could be a good way to bring Samantha back into the group even if fans can’t see her.
A return from Dr. Robert Leeds would be a great way to shake off Miranda Hobbes’ new relationship
Miranda Hobbes broke her husband’s heart in the first season of the reboot. she broke Sex and the City also the hearts of the fans. Now, stuck with Che Diaz, fans of the original series are looking for just about anything that can tear the unlikely pair apart. Steve Brady won’t do it, but maybe, just maybe, Dr. Robert Leeds do it.
Miranda was briefly with Dr. Robert Leeds, a sports medicine doctor, before deciding to get back together with Steve. Sure, Robert was kind of awful with Miranda after their breakup, but up to this point, he seemed like a good fit. Robert’s return could change everything and we’re not against it.
A return of Aidan Show in Season 2 of And Just Like That… seems inevitable
Aidan Shaw, played by John Corbett, was Carrie Bradshaw’s other great love. While Corbett joked that he would be returning for Season 1, things are getting more serious now. According to Deadline, Corbett will reprise his role in Deadline And just like that… Season 2. However, what role his character will play remains unknown.
While we’re not thrilled with the idea of Aidan returning as a potential love interest for Carrie, he could make a really interesting addition to the series. After all, Aidan was a good friend of Steve Brady’s, and Steve, when the character returns in Season 2, will need a friend now more than ever. While Aidan and Carrie might get a little tired of getting back together, having Aidan play for Carrie one more time could add a bit of drama to the show’s second season.
We could totally live without seeing Jack Beger return for And Just Like That… Season 2.
while dr Robert Leeds, Smith Jerrod and Aidan Shaw would be welcomed by the fans Sex and the City With open arms there’s a character no one needs to see again. Carrie’s boyfriend from season 6, Jack Berger, doesn’t have to return for season 2 of And just like that…
Berger originally showed promise. He and Carrie hit it off pretty quickly, with a common career path and easy conversations. However, things seemed to go wrong just as quickly. In the end, Berger was insecure, passive-aggressive and difficult. The red flags showed up early and often, but his decision to break up with Carrie over a Post-It made him the worst of Carrie’s serious love interests. In our opinion, there’s no way to bring him back into Carrie’s life that wouldn’t be just plain awful. Even an accidental collision on the road feels completely unnecessary.
