3 shot dead in Milwaukee after night of violence – WSVN 7News | Miami News, Weather, Sports

MILWAUKEE (AP) — Milwaukee police investigated three separate late-night shootings Sunday that killed a 17-year-old boy and two men in their 20s.

The shootings came the night after a night of violence in which 21 people were shot and injured in three other attacks near the Fiserv Forum in downtown Milwaukee as the Bucks faced the Boston Celtics in Game 6 of their NBA Playoffs series. These shootings prompted authorities to impose an 11pm curfew on Saturday and Sunday. The Bucks canceled a fan watch party for Decisive game 7 on Sunday afternoon.

The Milwaukee County coroner said a 21-year-old man died after a shooting near 11th Street and Rogers Street around 11:45 p.m. Saturday, Fox6 News reported.

About 40 minutes later, a 17-year-old Milwaukee boy was killed in a shootout that police say may have been related to a robbery. The victim had a gun with him.

The third fatal shooting occurred around 2:30 a.m. Sunday near 19th Street and Lincoln Avenue. According to the police, a 28-year-old local died.

Police had not released the names of the victims or arrested anyone in the shooting as of early Sunday afternoon.

The 11pm curfew, which requires everyone under the age of 20 to get off the streets, was in effect when the shooting took place. Police said Sunday that downtown Saturday night was “peaceful and uneventful” and that no subpoenas were issued for curfew violations.

All those injured in Friday’s shooting, which occurred within blocks of the arena, are expected to survive. At least eleven people have been arrested in connection with these shootings.
