A Bradenton man was killed after driving his car into a detention pond off I-75

BRADENTON, Fla. (WFLA) — A Bradenton man was killed in a car accident on I-75 early Saturday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

An FHP release said at 1:48 a.m. that the 24-year-old driver was traveling north on the I-75 exit off State Road 64 when he was unable to make a right turn.

The man’s car then crashed into a retention basin.

According to police, the man died at the scene.

The crash is still under investigation.
