A Florida woman wins $1 million on a Publix lottery ticket

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – A Florida woman won a big win after purchasing a Florida Lottery ticket.

On Monday, the Florida Lottery announced that Angelic Cokely, 43, of Lauderhill, won a $1 million prize from the $1,000,000 A Year For Life Spectacular scratch-off game.

Cokely bought her winning ticket at the Publix at 5855 West Oakland Park Boulevard in Lauderhill.

The 43-year-old demanded her prize as a one-time payment of $640,000. The Story will also receive a $2,000 commission for the sale of the winning ticket.

The $50 scratch-off game offers two top prizes: $1 million per year for life and 171 $1 million prizes.

It was first launched on February 27, 2023.
