A Pasco County man takes home a $1 million lottery prize from Winn-Dixie

PASCO COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) — A lucky Pasco County resident is well prepared for the expected landfall of Tropical Storm Idalia in Florida after winning a million-dollar prize in the Florida Lottery.

Jackie Dombrowski, 34, of Holiday, claimed his $1 million prize from the $1,000,000 scratch card A Year for Life Spectacular at the lottery’s Tallahassee headquarters.

Dombrowski opted to receive his winnings as a one-time lump sum payment of $640,000. His odds of finishing second were 1 in 185,709. A total of $175 million in prize money is still up for grabs.

Dombrowski bought his winning ticket at Winn-Dixie, 1640 US 19 North in Holiday. The retailer receives a bonus commission of $2,000 on sales of the winning scratch card.

The $50 game features two grand prizes of $1 million per year for life and more than $1.6 billion in cash prizes. The overall winning probability of the game is 1 in 4.50.
