To be fair, de Armas’ year wasn’t an absolute disaster, especially considering she didn’t appear in a single film that enjoyed wide theatrical release. Erotic Thriller Deep water was delayed for nearly a year and a half before being sold to Hulu and buried The gray man became Netflix’s biggest hit of the year, and it was pretty much Andrew Dominiks’ only element Blond who was able to escape relatively unscathed from the wreck.

Hard but probably fair. 2022 was hardly a standout year for de Armas, but at least she didn’t have to suffer the shame of watching two big budget vanity projects erupt in a ball of flames so hot their short-term reputation may have been damaged as a direct result .
