A sadistic thriller with less than three titles hits Netflix

It’s never a good look when a film is known by several different monikers, and history has shown that most features that hit theaters and change nomenclature depending on the time and place of release are, in most cases, either critical disasters prove or box office bombs, with 2007s Butterfly on a wheel Definitely fits the scope of work.
Although director Mike Barker’s mystery thriller boasted a compelling central conceit and a talented trio of leading actors – Pierce Brosnan, Gerard Butler and Maria Bello – it failed to succeed, no matter what it was called. The $20 million potboiler only managed to gross just over $7 million at the box office, even though it proved surprisingly popular in China.

Whether you know it as Butterfly on a wheel, Smashed, Desperate hoursEven if you’ve never heard of it, one irrefutable fact is that the film is one of Netflix’s biggest hits of the coming weekend FlixPatrol. Fortunately, for once, a single title has been chosen, which runs under the former name on the market-leading streaming service and is making its way onto the global watch list.
Butler and Bello play a married couple living a dream life, at least until Brosnan’s deranged sociopath kidnaps their daughter. However, he is not remotely interested in a ransom and instead decides that the two of them will destroy their own lives from the inside out as a kind of twisted game. There’s even an incredibly stupid twist at the very end, which is often a given in such labyrinthine flights of madness.
