A Tampa-based organization is accepting donations to help save Maui’s wildfires

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) – A Tampa-based nonprofit is accepting donations to support Maui’s recovery from the wildfires.

According to a press release, Project Dynamo is a veteran-run organization that has a team in Maui to provide assistance. The organization is working to assist with evacuation efforts.

“It is truly heartbreaking to watch the destruction unfolding in Hawaii,” Bryan Stern said in the press release.

Project Dynamo relies on donations to operate, and anyone who would like to donate can do so on the website Organization website.

The Maui death toll rose to 67 on Friday after officials confirmed another 12 people died in a major fire that reduced much of a centuries-old city to a hellscape of ash rubble.
