Abortion rights supporters fill the streets of cities across the country after Friday’s bombing

WASHINGTON – For the second straight day, people rallied outside the Supreme Court – to vent their anger over Friday’s bombing of the heavily fortified Temple of American Justice.

“Sam Alito is from New Jersey, he wrote this opinion — he’s a radical extremist who’s out of touch with 90 percent of this country, and I think it’s to mock him a bit, but also to be explicit how dangerous he is to the country,” said Mark Greenbaum of South Orange, New Jersey.

The first of two statements upheld Mississippi’s restrictive abortion law. The second went even further, overthrowing Roe v Wade – who clarified abortion as a constitutional right fifty years ago.

Now every state can create its own abortion law — 13 of which have already passed so-called “trigger laws” that are slated to go into effect if that day ever comes. Of them, seven have activated their trigger laws in the last 24 hours.

“Oklahoma is the most hostile state in the nation, and we hope other states will follow suit,” said Oklahoma Attorney General John O’Connor.

“I don’t want to live in a country where I’m free in one state and held hostage in another state. This is unacceptable, and every American should believe that,” said Planned Parenthood Federation President Alexis McGill Johnson.

In Jackson, Mississippi, the abortion clinic at the center of Friday’s ruling was still open — but it won’t be for long.

“These people have selflessly given their time and energy all these years to do this and now we will say goodbye very soon,” said abortion clinic worker Dorenda Hancock.
