An activist has threatened to “hunt” LGBT+ community allies during Pride Month, including at Target stores in Arizona.
Ethan Schmidt made the comments in a video he recorded divided by Patriot Takes, a group that claims to monitor and expose far-right extremism, on Twitter over the weekend.
In the clip, Schmidt said he plans to “display” what he called “Satanic Pride shrines for children” in Target stores.
“Guys, this June, me, my boy Kyle, you know, we’re going to expose Target. So, you know, Target, you might as well ban me forever from all your businesses in the United States,” Schmidt said.
“Because if you don’t, we’re going to get to every single one and we’re going to unveil every single Pride… what’s it called, Pride shrine, Satanic Pride shrines, for kids. We’re going to expose everyone.”
He also said he plans to harass managers and employees at Target stores.
“We will put pressure on all managers for every single goal,” said Schmidt. “We’re going to find and expose all LGBT supporters at … any staff who support it, we’re going to expose them.” We’re going to do massive scenes in every single destination in Phoenix, Arizona and we’re not going to let corporations poison the kids.
“So Target, we’re giving you a warning that we’ll be chasing you hard… This is going to be next-level stuff.”
The video shows Schmidt riding in a car driven by Kyle Clifton, who turns to the camera and says, “Christ wins. LGBT loses.” Clifton is a leader in the Groyper movement in Arizona, The Arizona Mirror has called.
In the video, Schmidt goes on to say that he likes to “hunt down LGBT supporters” in his free time.
“It’s one of my favorite things to do,” he says. “We’ll be going on hunting expeditions pretty soon…hunting LGBT supporters all over Arizona and Phoenix. So, you know, keep an eye out for it, because you’re not sure. If you support the LGBT agenda, you’re not safe. right, Kyle?”
Clifton agrees, adding, “Ethan finds you. Ethan finds everyone.”
Schmidt has previously made threats against the LGBT community and its supporters, and complained about shop displays.
Earlier this year, Schmidt filmed himself complaining about a Black History Month exhibit at a Five Below store. “That’s very disturbing to me … like the Black History and then the LGBT stuff,” he says to a store worker who saw him folding clothes in the video.
Schmidt, whose social media accounts have been suspended multiple times, has also become known for filming videos in which he harasses people for wearing masks and getting vaccinated during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Last summer, a video went viral of a maskless Smith harassing and threatening workers at a shop that specializes in wigs for cancer patients.
The target has been contacted for comment. Schmidt could not immediately be reached for comment.
