Adorable sea lions gather on Ventura County Beach and delight onlookers

OXNARD, Calif. (KABC)– California sea lions gathered on the sand at Kiddie Beach in Oxnard on Tuesday, delighting spectators who stopped to watch despite the rain.

A few sea lions raced towards the ocean as it began to rain, but most stayed on the sand to the delight of onlookers.

“In the 30 years that I’ve lived on this beach, they’ve never come close to this kiddie beach,” said Randy Goldberg. “They’ve never come this close to the seawall. They’ve always stayed on the other side, somehow better protected from humans.”

The sea lions snuggled up to each other and napped right on the sand in front of mesmerized onlookers.
