to bring searches FFXIV on the tabletop, final fantasy Fan Arkana Gray invites players to explore Eorzea TTRPG style.

During Final Fantasy XIV is already an RPG, much of its character RPG depends on the player himself. Of course, the game offers numerous paths to explore – classes, items, abilities and so on; Character personality building and acting, however, remains more of a personal choice than a built-in core mechanic.

FFXIV Fan Arkana Gray attempted to change this, aiming to include character roleplaying more regularly in gameplay. Her solution? A full fledged fan made Final Fantasy XIV TTRPG system called “Eorzea RPG”.

“I’ve been roleplaying in FFXIV for a couple of years now and as a regular player of DnD 5e I wanted something similar for adventures in Eorzea but without the restrictions that other TTRPGS offer but also a bit more complex than systems like FATE. The carrd has the download links that will be updated over time and the homepage has a link to the development roadmap.”

Although there are other TTRPG systems, Gray wanted to create something far more accessible. Gray designed this system to specifically include minimal dice rolling and focus more on providing opportunities to design original campaigns.

The simplification of the math and resource management allows players to become more involved in the adventure RPG – which isn’t to say stats aren’t important. Characters each have Resilience Ratings (equivalent to D&DArmor class of ) and skills that can affect the effectiveness of attacks. The system’s simple structure allows players as much creative freedom as they wish, with a solid rule order to follow.

Currently, Arkana Gray has completed the core Rules and Rules Lite documents and is currently developing a Soul Crystals expansion. Thankfully, Gray also has extensive docs on backgrounds, environments, bestiaries, and character creation along the way.
