Any Real housewives Show requires drama to survive. That’s probably one of the reasons why there are so many spinoffs. Whether the drama will be manufactured – to garner ratings and keep earning those Bravo paychecks – is up to the fans.
For the ladies of The real housewives of Atlanta, Shereé Whitfield made her living when she was on screen. Whitfield has been making some bold claims about her She by Shereé clothing line from day one, and they’ve finally come to fruition.
Shereé Whitfield was an OG housewife in The Real Housewives of Atlanta
Whitfield has addressed many issues on the show. For example, in 2008 she went through a divorce RHOAPremiere. Not only did she divorce a former NFL star, but she also had three children to take care of while running a clothing store.
Whitfield left the show twice, once after four seasons when she took a three-year hiatus, and then again after season 10 for two years. As Women’s Health reports, she left because she was “tired of the fighting and the insolence” to then run her business.
Fans always love her fights (like donning wigs) and her battles between Chateau Shereé and Moore Manor. The nickname “bone collector” certainly has many layers of meaning. So viewers were happy to see her again in season 14.
She by Shereé was finally launched after 14 seasons
Whitfield announced She by Shereé waaaaaay back in Season 1. After many attempts to get her line public — and several confrontations with the housewives — she finally launched her clothing line during the season 14 finale RHOA. At launch, it had been about 14 years since it was first announced.
The concept, according to Whitfield’s Instagram account, is “chic, fun and sophisticated t-shirts and athleisure collections that bring out your inner sexyness”. The shop on the e-commerce site showcases onesies, sweatpants, hoodies, coffee mugs, tumblers, mesh hats, and stickers.
What do fans of She by Shereé think now that it’s live?
The She by Shereé website was launched in early September. As expected, people have strong opinions of Whitfield’s line of branded clothing.
Whitfield-branded decals—stickers, mind you—sell for $6.52. Coffee cups cost $18.02. A mesh trucker hat costs $40.02, while a Joggers Pride t-shirt costs $82.
Fans weren’t pleased. “Um, if you can buy it on Amazon without the She by Sheree logo for a third of the price then I have a problem,” said one Twitter User. Other complained“After 10+ years out of fashion you just put your name in a Jeffree Star logo, printed it on an Ali Express/Shein garment and charged it $130!?”
Not all people who studied Whitfield’s clothes thought it was bad. A fan, The Peach Report on Twitter, said: “I really don’t understand the complaints about the prices. If the quality is right, I have no problem with it at all. Supporting black and minority owned brands is so important.”
The site crashed on launch and Whitfield thanked people for their interest. How well will their brand perform? Wait and see during Season 15 of RHOAis set to come out for some time with rumors of Porsha Williams returning, according to Screen Rant.
