After becoming the first girl to pitch in a CIF-SS baseball title game, Jillian Albayati throws the 1st pitch at Angel Stadium

ANAHEIM, Calif. (KABC) — The Angels on Thursday honored a local sports star who breaks glass ceilings.

Last week, Anaheim High School’s Jillian Albayati became the first girl to play in a California Interscholastic Federation – Southern Section baseball title game.

On Thursday night, the Angels invited Albayati to throw the ceremonial first pitch before their game against the Toronto Blue Jays at the Big A in Anaheim.

Predictably, Jillian threw a strike right down the middle.

Her 11-0 record and 1.68 era put her up against some of the Halos pitchers.
