Afternoon showers for Saturday; Lee weakens slightly

Columbus, Georgia (WRBL)- It will remain dry for the first part of our Saturday, but showers and storms will appear along a stable front to the southeast later this afternoon. After sunset the chance of rain decreases. Temperatures will be in the lower 90s again this afternoon.

Tomorrow will see a similar pattern, with dry mornings and an increasing chance of rain in the afternoon. Showers and storms will occur from midday onwards and will subside after sunset.

Rain chances will decrease through Wednesday once this stalled front disappears, but rain and storms will return late next week.

Hurricane Lee weakened slightly overnight and is back to a Category 3 storm. However, we expect this storm to strengthen back to a Category 4 early next week. It’s too early to determine if this poses a threat to the CONUS next week, but a dangerous storm surge is expected along the East Coast.
