The higher the hair, the closer to God! Dolly Parton had the fans do a double and triple take during the game ACM Awards 2023 while continuing to change ensembles.
The “Jolene” singer, 77, who organized the event on Thursday, May 11, with Garth Brooks came to the awards ceremony looking glamorous from head to toe. She dressed a Texas-approved silver jumpsuit reminiscent of a cosmic cowgirl on the red carpet. The outfit was completed with glitter, sequins and silver fringes on the top and pants.
Parton’s style is bold and bright – which is almost always the case is characterized by sky-high hair, rhinestones and form-fitting outfits – remained on view throughout the night.
The 9 to 5 Star changed her look throughout the show, including a cheeky new ensemble for her live performance. Parton chose to introduce the first single from her upcoming rock album at the event in Frisco, Texas.
Over the years, The steel magnolias actress has established herself as one of the biggest names in country music, and her style has become equally memorable with her fans.
“I’m impressed by anyone who has a sense of glamor and style, but I say it’s all about being comfortable in your own skin,” Parton explained of her own inspiration during an interview with WSJ Magazine. “My own over-the-top look came from a serious place I’ve often talked about: the tramp in our little country hometown.”
The Singer of “Coat of Many Colors”. recalled townspeople calling the woman “garbage,” but told her she was “absolutely beautiful.” Parton particularly recalled liking the woman’s “colorful patchwork skirts and pretty blouses.” [that] showed a little cleavage.”

Parton added, “If everyone said, ‘Oh, she’s just trash,’ I would say, ‘Well, trash is what I’m going to grow up to be.’ And I guess my look is glam trash!”
In April 2022, the “Here You Come Again” singer revealed on the “WorkLife with Adam GrantThe podcast states that the worst advice she got early in her career was to “change up” her looks and “don’t look so cheap.”
The Grammy winner explained: “I wasn’t a natural beauty and so I just like to look the way I look. I’m so outgoing on the inside that my looks have to match all of this.”
Despite early criticism, Parton’s decision to stay true to herself has made her even more of an icon in the music industry. So much so that in March she announced the release of a new book. Behind the seamsabout her fashion journey.
“I hope you will take a look at my life in costume and hair and meet some of the wonderful people who have shaped my life and appearance,” said the Dollywood founder wrote via Instagram At that time he stated that the book will be published in October.
