All the signs that Love Island’s Jess and Sammy were secretly splitting up – from a sudden trip to Ibiza to dodgy TikTok posts

LOVE Island winners Jess Harding and Sammy Root have hit the skids after just three months – but the signs were already there.

The couple are said to have split up in recent days, with an insider telling the Mail: “They are doing better as friends.”

However, attentive fans may have already noticed that Sammy and Jess were already over.

Here we look at all the signs they’ve broken up…

ABSENT FRIENDS

Although Jess and Sammy appear to still be in a relationship, they haven’t posed for pictures together on social media in weeks.

The last time they were photographed putting on a united front was at this year’s National Television Awards, held in London three weeks ago.

Both Jess and Sammy shared a photo of themselves relaxing on the red carpet on Instagram.

But no photos together have appeared since then…

IBIZA ESCAPE

A few days ago Jess boarded a plane and suddenly flew to Ibiza.

Fans on Instagram noticed that she wasn’t accompanied by her boyfriend Sammy on her trip and quickly started asking questions.

Alongside a snap of Jess posing on a daybed in a black bikini, one follower wrote: “So many people voted for your win, the least you can do is give them an update on your relationship with Sammy give.”

Another said: “I thought hopefully they didn’t do it.” [split].”

And someone else chimed in: “She was on Love Island and won. In front of everyone. We have every right to ask…she doesn’t have to answer.”

Jess obviously remained tight-lipped and didn’t respond to her fans.

Cryptic Tiktok

Sammy, 22, recently sent the rumor mill into overdrive after reposting a very cryptic video on TikTok.

The video showed the face of an unnamed woman and had the caption: “Men don’t get jealous when someone beats up their girlfriend.”

“They get jealous of the girl who gives the guy who hits her the attention he wants.”

Fans quickly realized he had reposted it, with one writing on TikTok: “There are rumors that Jess and Sammy have broken up as Jess is on holiday and Sammy reposted the ‘Jealousy’ video.”

Someone else wrote: “Speechless!”

PIN DROP

Jess, 22, was at risk of revealing her split from Sammy after logging onto Instagram and removing all her pinned posts featuring him.

She has also deleted all of her highlighted stories with her fellow Love Island winner.

One fan picked up on her decision and posted his observations on X, formerly known as Twitter.

“Jess untied her pictures with Sammy and deleted her Sammy highlights two months after leaving the villa as boyfriend and girlfriend,” she said.

NO PLANS

As winners of Love Island 2023, Sammy and Jess received a whopping £50,000 to share.

But strangely, they made no plans on how to spend it or what to do together once they left the villa.

Speaking at the Sun’s Who Cares Wins awards last month, the couple said the only thing they planned to do was return to their own workplace.

They also insisted they had no intention of moving in together.

Sammy said: “We’ve been on holiday together but other than that you don’t really have much time. We’re both very, very busy.”

When asked if they would spend their winnings, beautician Jess replied: “It’s still so early, I feel like we just haven’t had the time.”
