All viewers say Love in the Country is RTE’s “best show” after the “scandalous” first episode

Viewers have all praised RTE for releasing Love in the Country following tonight’s “scandalous” episode.
The first episode of RTE’s latest dating show, hosted by Anna Geary, aired on RTE 2 this evening.
“Love in the Country” is based on the international format “Farmer Wants a Wife,” which has successfully brought hundreds of couples together around the world.
Anna will help bring together six singles who are all looking for love but feel it’s harder to meet someone in their locations.
Each of the dating hopefuls featured has a connection to where they live and needs love to come to them.
Tonight viewers met 20-year-old Roscommon student and sheep farmer Alanagh Loftus.
After deciding who she wanted to meet, Alanagh traveled to Dublin for a round of speed dates.
She chose three men to take to Roscommon to meet her family and learn about their lives: Ben Stone, Scott McMullan and Brian Crehan.
We also met 32-year-old Rob Murphy, a farmer and pharmacist from West Cork, who received so many letters that Anna said they needed a bigger mailbag!
Rob met his potential suitors in real life through speed dating.
After a difficult decision, he chose rower Aisling Hayes, teacher Avril Smyth and herbalist Lucia Byrne to get to know better.
They all looked thrilled as they packed their bags for West Cork and a weekend on the farm.
All RTE viewers loved tonight’s first episode.
One viewer tweeted: “Why didn’t RTE do this years ago? Beats imported Love Island by far! When is season 2 coming? #LoveInTheCountry.”
Holly said: “Best thing RTE has put out for a long time. Comedy gold!”
Ricky wrote: “This is scandalous oh my god #LoveInTheCountry.”
Jill tweeted: “I love this #LoveInTheCountry.”
Another viewer added: “The best program RTE has ever produced. Authentic. At times awkward to watch, but still compelling and compelling. #LoveInTheCountry.”
Anna and her husband Kevin Sexton welcomed their first baby into the family last month on August 1, 2023.
She shared some news with her fans about life as a new mother.
GEARY TIRED
Last week, she decided to share a video on her Instagram about the reality of sleep deprivation.
The video began with Anna brushing her teeth with soap and then putting her bra over her clothes.
Finally she washed her laundry and put her son’s clothes in the basket.
Anna captioned the video with the words: “What do you think your mental focus is?
“Let’s just say this video isn’t an exaggeration and I could think of 100 more examples.
“Like I almost put the milk in the press last night.
“I’m not sure if it’s baby brain or sleep deprivation, but there’s something wrong when I can’t find my keys and then they’re in my hand the whole time.”
