Amazon boss teases ‘Social Commentary And Blood’ from The Boys spinoff ‘Gen V’

The successful Amazon series The young tells a dark, violent superhero story. Due to its enormous popularity, it gets a spinoff series that accompanies it and further expands its universe with the title Gen V Amazon’s head of television, Vernon Sanders, weighed how the two series compare.

Sanders believes that if you’re a fan of The young you will love Gev V. “We have connections to The young Universe and cast have been carefully curated throughout the season. So there are a lot of Easter eggs that I think fans will love,” he says.

He also thinks this new cast is a wonderful addition to the universe. “The young ensemble [is] fantastic,” he enthuses.

Things only get better for Boys fans as Gen V continues. He continues, “And I think people are going to be surprised when they come on the show and the show develops, the impact that that has Gen V wears The young. The two shows have some really interesting connections.”

There’s also plenty for those who have yet to watch Boys. “And it’s a great combination of social commentary, blood, there’s a lot of blood, a really cool mystery,” says Sanders.

He hopes he hasn’t said too much, but he just can’t help it. “So I’m probably saying more than I should, but I’m really excited. We are delighted with the results,” he concludes. His excitement is contagious.

Gen V scheduled for release sometime in 2023. It was developed by Michele Fazekas and Tara Butters. The cast includes Jaz Sinclair as Marie Moreau and Lizze Broadway as Emma Shaw. It tells the story of young superheroes studying at the Godolkin University School of Crimefighting, the same school where A-Train and The Deep once trained.
