E-commerce giant Amazon faces protests and strikes around the world amid busy Black Friday sales.
Thousands of warehouse workers, angry over wages and working conditions, are planning strikes and demonstrations in some 40 countries.
These include strikes in 18 warehouses in Germany and France.
Other countries with workers planning to participate include the US, India, Japan, Australia and South Africa.
Some protests will highlight Amazon’s environmental and social footprint.
The protest action is called “Make Amazon Pay”.
Environmental and civil society groups are backing an international coalition of unions coordinating the effort.
Amazon spokesman David Nieberg said the company isn’t perfect, but they “take our role and impact very seriously.”
He said the company offers “competitive wages and great benefits.”
