An exciting new cosmic horror Something in the Dirt is streaming now

One of horror’s finest new creative duos has continued an excellent hot streak with their latest film, proving themselves once again as the brightest up-and-coming talent.
The new film from Aaron Moorhead and Justin Benson Something in the dirt received excellent reception at film festivals during its run, but is now available for home entertainment. If you like an exceptionally minimalist sci-fi horror film, this is definitely for you.
The film also sees the directors in their two lead roles, conceptualizing and shooting the film with a 12-person emergency crew in their own home. It’s definitely inspired by the pandemic lockdown, making extraordinary use of its minimalist setting. The film shows them witnessing a supernatural cosmic event from their windows before considering how to monetize it.
Now the film is available to rent on Amazon, Google Play, and YouTube, so you can pretty much cover all the bases. Well worth the rental fee and a real hidden gem to brag about to your friends.
Incredibly well received, it received praise from the festival circuit and is currently sitting 90 percent on Rotten Tomatoes as the world slowly learns of its existence. Considering the duo’s previous work on films such as The Endless and Synchronousthis is a very interesting movie to follow.
Something in the dirt premiered at Sundance back in January 2022, meaning it was a real curiosity to find. Since then, Moorhead and Benson have watched their episodes of moon knight released as well as confirmation that they are directing the second season Loki.
