Andie MacDowell suffered a panic attack from Donald Trump on set

Actress Andie MacDowell revealed she suffered a panic attack during a Hollywood set that caused her to fall to her knees. The celebrity said she experienced the meltdown in part because of former President Donald Trump and because the production crew and cast on set were a “sea of men.”
MacDowell — who enjoyed most of her Hollywood success in the 1990s with films like Groundhog’s Day and Four Weddings and a Funeral — admitted she experienced a temporary meltdown in 2016, shortly after Trump was elected president had suffered.
“I had this kind of crazy experience right after Trump got elected,” MacDowell said Marie Claire in this week. “I was really concerned that nobody seemed to care about the vagina[-grabbing] comment; I got really sad.”
“I went to do a job, work a day, and I had my first ever panic attack,” the 64-year-old actress explained. “I got ready to shoot something and I turn around and it’s like a room full of men. Like a sea of men. It flashed on something that was personal to me. And I fell to my knees.”
MacDowell recalled, “I left the room and went into this fake bathroom on set and looked at myself in the mirror and said, ‘Get your shit together..'”
“It just freaked me out not seeing other women,” she explained. “It’s not that I have anything against men. I haven’t! I just don’t like big groups of them.”
“Since then, I’ve been very careful to look around and find the women on set,” MacDowell added. “For comfort.”
MacDowell noted that since the #MeToo movement — which was sparked in October 2017 following the uncovering of sexual abuse allegations against Hollywood film producer Harvey Weinstein — things have improved on film sets.
“MeToo was interesting — you can see the difference on set,” she said, “there are a lot more women.”
MacDowell didn’t name the film or TV series she was working on when she was suffering from the Trump-induced panic attack, but she did play the character Bertie Geiss on the 2016 TV show Model Woman. IMDB. MacDowell appeared in four films and one television series released in 2017.
