Andrew Tate’s luxury cars are now in the hands of the Romanian authorities

After his arrest for alleged involvement in human trafficking Andrew Tate sits in a detention center in Romania while authorities confiscated his 11 luxury cars on suspicion they were all bought with proceeds from his illegal activities.

The absurdly popular social media influencer was arrested in Romania last week and will be jailed for at least three more weeks without a successful appeal. He is one of at least four people – including his brother Tristan, who is also imprisoned – who are alleged to have lured several women into what they believed to be a relationship, only to end up being subjected to acts of pornography under threat of violence to be for the financial gain of their abusers. Andrew Tate’s arrest for alleged sexual exploitation of women comes after a year of massive popularity in which he expressed controversial views about relationships, although his controversial statements are not limited to women as an issue.

The luxury cars confiscated include a Rolls-Royce and an Aston Martin. The Directorate of Investigation into Organized Crime and Terrorism confirmed it had seized the vehicles, adding that they could be used as collateral to help pay compensation to victims of the alleged crimes.

Last week, a popular Twitter user circulated a rumor that the Tates’ arrests came after authorities were told Tate was in Romania because she blew out a pizza box in a video response to Greta Thunberg dissing Andrew Tate a Romanian pizzeria had spotted a response to his head-scratching tweet. Authorities have denied this rumor and were well aware of Tate’s whereabouts without this cheesy help.

The Tate brothers’ lawyer, Eugen Vidineac, said he was in the process of appealing their current detention and that his clients deny all allegations, adding: “We are not at a stage of guilt or innocence is proven. At the moment we are only discussing preventive measures.” Andrew Tate’s luxury cars are now in the hands of the Romanian authorities
