In 2010, Angelina Jolie starred in the action thriller Salt. When her ex-husband Brad Pitt visited her for the film, there was one scene in the film that surprised Pitt.

2010s Salt was a thriller that followed a highly trained CIA agent accused of being a Russian sleeper agent. To clear her name, the agent, who goes by the name Evelyn Salt, went on the run.
Before Jolie got his hands on the script and became the title character, the film was written with a male lead. Then the malicious Star was offered the lead role, and changes were made to accommodate the character’s gender change. For one thing, the original character was supposed to have both a wife and a child. But Jolie left the child character out of the film as she felt someone in Evelyn Salt’s position would avoid motherhood.
“I said it wasn’t something that would come as a surprise to a woman and I don’t think that woman would have a child. So the first thing was that we couldn’t have a child and we had to find a way to have this relationship with a husband or wife who are very different,” she once told Coming Soon.
However, Jolie also claimed that she didn’t want that Salt to be seen as an all-girls film.
“The most important thing was that we said we can’t start making this a girly movie because I think people have failed at that in the past,” she said in a 2010 interview with Cinemablend. “When they write something intentionally for a woman, it’s always about being a woman, using her femininity, all those obvious feminine things. So we said let’s just keep all the things that are hard. If anything we need to make it darker and we need to make it meaner than the boys.”

Do Salt saw Jolie take part in some interesting stunts and moments. One of those moments was dressing up as a man in the movie. Jolie’s Evelyn Salt did this to dress up, which was a scene Jolie joked she couldn’t help herself. Though the actor was having fun, she confided that dressing as a man made others uncomfortable.
“It was really weird. I think I was being a little polite. People had a very, very difficult time speaking to me. [Salt director Philip Noyce] could hardly talk to me. Nobody could speak to me. It wasn’t so much how he looked, it was how he talked,” she said of the scene.
Her ex-husband Brad Pitt had a similar reaction to Jolie as others on set. Though Pitt said Jolie’s manly disguise wouldn’t phase him, it did just that.
“And Brad came to see me once, and I said, ‘You don’t want to come, I’m going to be the man.’ And he said, “It won’t bother me, it’s you, whatever, it’s you.” And then he came and I changed and so I was half woman and half man. [He was] sooo snuck away,” she said.

Jolie once shared that Pitt was supposed to have a very brief role in the thriller. But the fight club The star’s family commitments prevented Pitt from starring in Jolie’s film.
“He almost was the motorcycle guy I threw off and then he would discredit me,” she once told USA Today. “But he was with the kids that day and we couldn’t work it out.”
