Annie Wersching dead: The actress best known for roles on The Last of Us, 24, The Vampire Diaries, Star Trek and more has died at the age of 45

LOS ANGELES — Actress Annie Wersching, best known for playing FBI agent Renee Walker on 24 and the voice of Tess on The Last of Us video game, has died. she was 45

Wersching died Sunday morning in Los Angeles after a battle with cancer, her publicist told The Associated Press. The type of cancer was not specified.

Neil Druckmann, creator of The Last of Us, wrote on Twitter: “We just lost a beautiful artist and human being. My heart is broken. Thoughts are with their loved ones.”

Actress Abigail Spencer, who starred with Wersching in the sci-fi series Timeless, tweeted: “We love you Annie Wersching. You will be greatly missed.”

Born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri, Wersching has appeared on dozens of television shows over the course of her two-decade career.

Her first role was on Star Trek: Enterprise, and she later played recurring roles on seasons seven and eight of 24, Bosch, The Vampire Diaries, Marvel’s Runaways, and The Rookie. ‘ and most recently the second season of ‘Star Trek: Picard’ as the Borg Queen.

She also provided the voice and motion capture performance for Tess for the popular video game The Last of Us.

According to Deadline, Wershing was diagnosed with cancer in 2020 and continued to work. She is survived by her husband, actor Stephen Full, and three sons. A GoFundMe page was launched on Sunday to support the family.
