Apple Weather app is down AGAIN: iPhone users say they’ve been hit by a second outage in 48 hours

Apple’s weather app appears to have crashed for the second time in 48 hours.

Instead of showing live predictions, the app shows a blank screen with users’ selected locations.

While the system status site for Apple shows no problems, many users shared the outage on Twitter.

“The Apple Weather app just gave up on life,” one user shared, noting that the app crashed on Tuesday.

DailyMail.com has reached out to Apple for comment.

Users have shared their dislike over the outage on social media.

One tweeted a screenshot saying “Weather data now” with the caption: “And believing this has been fixed.”

And another person wrote, “With Dark Sky gone and the Apple Weather app falling apart, where are Yinz getting your weather from?”

The previous outage happened on Tuesday, but according to 9to5Mac, the Weather app was accessible through watchOS.

The precipitation, temperature and air quality maps still worked.

Other popular Apple services like the App Store and Apple Music continued to work just fine.

Users also took to Twitter to express their confusion over the outage.

One said: “What the hell? #AppleWeather is down again? What’s up? I can’t function without my weather.’

Another added: “The weather app is down so now I don’t know what to wear tomorrow.”

The official Apple Support Twitter page responded to angry users, saying they were “investigating” the issue and asking them to submit questions directly.

Some say the problems with the Weather app on Tuesday started shortly after the iOS 16.4 update that came out last week.

The new operating system has many new features, including the addition of 21 new emojis to the keyboard.

These include the highly-anticipated pink heart icon, a shaking face (“I’m shook”), a moose, stick ginger, the Wi-Fi icon, and a pair of maracas.

The Weather app troubles also come just a week after Apple briefly relaunched the popular Dark Sky weather forecast app.

Dark Sky provided “hyperlocal” weather forecasts by location, including up-to-the-minute forecasts and smartphone alerts.

The tech giant acquired the competing app in 2020, shifted some of its features to its own weather app, and then shut down the original earlier this year.

Features copied included lightning forecasts, 10-day forecasts, and severe weather alerts that were installed as part of the iOS 16 update.

But the Dark Sky app was temporarily revived last week by an apparent server glitch at Apple, according to 9to5Mac.
