Ariana Madix received threats after Scandoval

Fans no doubt remember it well, but as Scandoval became known to the world, Rachel Leviss claimed she was inundated with death threats. “Vanderpump Rules” viewers watched as Rachel’s popularity and psychological well-being waned and she had to involve the FBI in her case.

Tom Sandoval, on the other hand, seemed to be doing relatively well. Between him, Rachel and Ariana MadixHe seemed to be the one who suffered the least from Scandoval. But Ariana was reportedly struggling with even more than viewers realized.

Ariana appeared on the August 25 episode of Scheana Shay’s podcast Scheananigans. Scheana asked Ariana if she thought “the public and the media are usually harder on the woman than the man in these kinds of situations.” Ergo, did Rachel experience more hate than Tom, and was that fair or justified?

Ariana says Rachel is ‘not the only one’

Ariana said there was some truth to the idea, but also said she’s received a lot of backlash herself, despite not doing anything wrong. Ariana revealed: “Right now there are people who are after me and they’re coming at me.”

She explained in more detail, “I’ve had people text me from fake Google Numbers with threats and stuff like that, so there’s not just one person who’s getting threats and maybe I should call the FBI, but literally of the word, [Rachel’s] Not the only one.” Scheana also previously explained that everyone in the Pump Rules cast received terrible news after Scandoval.

And look, Rachel is worthy of condemnation in many ways, but Ariana’s response sounded oddly jealous and unsympathetic. Rachel, of course, shouldn’t have had an affair. But no matter what she did, death threats were never justified, and Ariana shouldn’t have downplayed that. Furthermore, it was an odd answer to the question, “Are women doing worse than men in these situations?”

Vanderpump Rules Season 11 is expected to air on Bravo in early 2024.
