Arma Reforger Update Patch Notes & Maintenance Time (June 1st)

Arma Reforger today receives a new small update that fixes dozens of bugs to improve the overall gaming experience and further optimize the game.

Bohemia Interactive is about to close Arma Reforger Servers as soon as they will implement a new update with tons of fixes. The new update not only fixes some AI-related and geometry issues, but also gets rid of a bunch of annoying bugs that are causing the game to crash.

Furthermore, you can expect more stable servers after this new update as it also implements some fixes and changes to the backend systems.

  • Fixed rendering artifacts related to shadow cascades
  • Added: Minor conflict scenarios available in the Play and Scenarios menus
  • Fixed: AI in idle behavior didn’t check its environment and now it does
  • Fixed: Explosive containers in Conflict contained normal items instead
  • Fixed: Incorrect background in the modified PlayerTile group layouts
  • Fixed magazines getting stuck on hands when a reload is interrupted by the equip action
  • Fixed crash in inventory when throwing a vehicle into a turret
  • Tweaked: Ural upshift speed increased to 1250
  • Added: Option to change Y-axis orientation of gamepad
  • Fixed potential character teleporting under the surface when exiting an inverted vehicle
  • Tweaked: AI perception at night
  • Fixed: Aiming the turrets with the mouse became unreliable at high FPS
  • Tweaked: Collisions and destruction of certain small props, walls and environment objects
  • Fixed: Saves on the Steam platform are now properly shared
  • Fixed possible crash when exiting Game Master mode
  • Fixed: The environment was not updated when proxy clients manipulated elements within a storage hierarchy
  • Fixed: Skipped paths in climb test for valid overclimb points (climbing through a window)
  • Fixed sprint suppression when going into ADS with binoculars or other gadget
  • Fixed: Possible crash on exit related to UI
  • Fixed: Collision of cars with gate poles could sink the cars under the terrain
  • Fixed: Characters killed (or player disconnected) in a vehicle could get stuck next to the vehicle or sitting on the road
  • Fixed: Improved door contact detection
  • Fixed: Item gestures were not possible when the character was in a throwing stance
  • Fixed actions to equip weapons now check emotes availability to prevent delayed pickups
  • Fixed: Bind keys can now be canceled by pressing the escape key
  • Fixed: Equipping a weapon could potentially crash the game
  • Fixed: Changing the model of an animated object could potentially crash the game
  • Fixed: Radios were not returned to the radio pool when disconnected
  • Fixed: Players could get stuck building a bunker during the tutorial scenario
  • Changed: When a player gets banned, they are shown the duration of the ban
  • Tweaked: localization strings and phrasing


  • Fixed: Password input on the virtual keyboard
  • Changed: TV audio is no longer muted when headphones are connected to the controller


  • Changed: Improved the ACK system to reduce resend rates and bandwidth spikes when the server streams new map regions to players
  • Fixed: Clients now handle disconnecting from the server during a world reload
  • Tweaked: Transmission of firing action in turrets has been optimized
  • Hotfix: Graceful return from an online session to the main menu when resuming from a suspension
  • Fixed: Disinfected ServerCommandHandler if the player is no longer available
  • Fixed: Improved network frame acknowledgment mechanism
  • Fixed: Network streaming or disconnection could potentially crash the game
  • Changed: Animation data from owners (instead of from the server as before) is now played on proxies by default (this can be done by -noForwardOwnerAnimations on the server)
  • Tweaked: Improved character smoothness in multiplayer


  • Hotfix: Rendering artifacts visible on some surfaces when using scopes or inventory
  • Hotfix: Building interiors suddenly become pitch black
  • Fixed: Clutter is not removed by decals
  • Fixed flickering clutter when cleared by decals and flickering decals


  • Fixed: An incorrect sub-scene name could be displayed in the scene tree
  • Changed: BattlEye now always loads from the game installation folder


  • Tweaked: Height resampling is now the default when importing a height map in the world editor
  • Fixed: RDB cache shows files not present in an addon
  • Added: The current backend environment is now displayed in the status bar
  • Fixed: World Editor – crash when trying to save a world in a read-only folder
  • Fixed ignoring Blender “Armature” bones
  • Changed: Prohibited use of workbench as a replication client
  • Tweaked: World Editor – Better default camera position
  • Fixed : World Editor – crash when showing an entity’s context menu
  • Fixed: Changing properties of DecoratorEntity in the behavior editor could crash Workbench


  • Fixed some people crashing when manipulating the server browser
  • Removed: Local rating update in workshop
  • Changed: Backend – Dedicated Server Shutdown is called in 3 seconds after a heartbeat fails 3 times
  • Tweaked: Manifests of old addons are now correctly removed on update
  • Fixed: Backend – If room registration fails, a server now shuts down gracefully
  • Fixed: Sometimes servers were not visible in the server browser after disconnecting
  • Changed: Improved error reporting for service-related issues

Maintenance schedule for Arma Reforger for Xbox and PC

According to an official blog post by Bohemia Interactive, Arma Reforger PC servers are shut down for maintenance June 1st at 3am PT/6am ET/10am UTC/11am BST/12pm CEST. Downtime is 3 hours.

The Xbox version of the update will launch on June 2nd at the exact same time as above with 3 hours of downtime.
