At least 2 injured in Lancaster fireworks explosion

LANCASTER, Calif. (KABC)– At least two people were injured in a fireworks explosion in Lancaster, according to authorities.

According to the Los Angeles County Fire Department, the incident happened around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday near the corner of 5th Street and Avenue I.

A basketball court in a park was cordoned off while lawmakers conducted their investigation.

At least two people were taken to hospital, according to authorities, but the extent of their injuries was unknown. Further details on the fireworks explosion were not available.
