Aubrey Plaza reveals she and Meghann Fahy tapped mushrooms in Italy

AubreyPlaza was watching Late Night with Seth Meyers to promote and celebrate her Golden Globe nomination for her role in the final season of The White Lotus. While speaking with Meyers, Plaza wanted to set the record straight about an incident her co-star Meghann Fahy discussed on the show about the two hiking together in Italy.

Fahy had previously told Meyers in her own interview that Plaza got lost during a hike, resulting in them walking on a freeway with no sidewalk. As a “whole bike gang” rode past them and gave them a few whistles, Fahy recalled Plaza yelling, “Don’t look at me!”

When it was Plaza’s turn to sit down with Meyers, the actress announced that Fahy had missed a crucial contextual detail of the story — they stumbled upon mushrooms.

“Yes I saw her on your show because I watch your show and she left out the most important part that we were on mushrooms.”

Meyers indicated that Meghan might have been a little less accommodating because her parents were in the audience.

However, Plaza took a degree of displeasure at how she came out in Fahy’s story, and Meyers agreed: “You’re right, she told a story that made you seem rude to Italian motorists.”

Plaza countered, describing how the whole event felt from her slightly disorganized perspective.

“I was tripping balls, b***h!

“It was terrifying! We got lost on a highway and there were Italian men who were insanely insane like they were walking up to me. I thought they were taking me to the dark side, I was going to cross over!”

She apologized to Fahy in case she got in trouble with her parents for telling the story, but as this shows there are always two sides to every story and one of those sides can involve a drug trip.

Both seasons of The White Lotus are now available to stream on HBO Max.
