Ben Shapiro has been criticized for denying Bernie Sanders’ Jewishness

Nakba refers to the “disaster” and recognizes the Palestinians were driven from their homes beginning in 1948 with the establishment of the State of Israel.
Shapiro responded to a tweet about Sanders by questioning the senator’s Judaism: “Bernie Sanders is about as Jewish as a ham and shrimp sandwich on lard.”
Twitter responded by adding context to Shapiro’s tweet:
“Senator. Sanders grew up in Brooklyn, the son of Jewish immigrants. His father Elias emigrated from Poland in 1921 at the age of 17. Senator Sanders learned his family was killed during the Holocaust while appearing on the PBS show Finding Your Roots.”
Abraham, Sanders’ father’s brother, was shot by the Nazis in 1942 after he, as a senator, refused to hand over people for execution learned further “Find your roots.”
Twitter users had some thoughts on Shapiro’s comment.
