Bethesda’s Indiana Jones game is said to be exclusive to Xbox, despite previous reports

Since the announcement of a new Indiana Jones game from Bethesda Softworks earlier this year, fans were excited to see if it would be an Xbox exclusive or not.

Bethesda confirmed back in January that they were developing a new one Indiana Jones Game fresh off the release of the hugely successful Deathloop, which was in fact a timed PlayStation exclusive. In the announcement, Bethesda said so Indiana Jones would feature an original story and be produced by Todd Howard, who is best known for directing Stand out and Elder Scrolls Series.

Unfortunately, since the title is still in an early stage of development, it will take some time before further announcements are made. This has led many to speculate on numerous elements including whether or not Indiana Jones will be an Xbox exclusive following Microsoft’s acquisition of Bethesda.

Industry insiders debate Indiana Jones Xbox exclusivity

It seems like even two reputable industry insiders can’t agree on an answer. Reports began to circulate over the weekend Indiana Jones wouldn’t be an Xbox exclusive, after industry insider Jez Corden revealed the details on The Xbox Two podcast.

After a discussion about PlayStation exclusive titles arose, Indiana Jones That it was an Xbox exclusive was thrown into the mix, but Jez responded, saying “It’s not, I know pretty well it’s not.” Jez went on to say that he found that out a long time ago, so details may have changed.

This then prompted a response from another insider, Shpeshal_Nick, who simply said “I was told it was exclusive”. While both parties are incredibly reliable when it comes to inside information, it seems like someone’s source is incorrect this time. Or one has more up-to-date information than the other. Though insiders get specific details ahead of an official announcement, plans can often change behind the scenes.

For now, it’s probably best to wait for an official announcement from Bethesda itself. However, since development is still in the very early stages, don’t expect to know the answer any time soon.
