Beverly Hills Cop 4: Eddie Murphy is joined by more original cast members

Espresso with lemon spiral for Everyone! Now that Netflix is Beverly Hills Cop Sequel added four more cast members from the original film.
Eddie Murphy himself has been attached to the new sequel since November 2019, when Netflix first secured the rights from Paramount.
Now Judge Reinhold, John Ashton, Paul Reiser and Bronson Pinchot have also joined the cast – as it’s somewhat awkwardly titled – Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley.
The original Beverly Hills Cop Circa 1984, Murphy followed a rogue Detroit police detective as he ventured to Los Angeles to investigate the murder of a longtime friend. There he clashed a bit with Reinhold and Ashton’s Beverly Hills attorneys (as well as a baby Jonathan Banks!), although they all ended up getting a little better for working together.
Reinhold continued to appear in the first two sequels, while Ashton (quite wisely) only returned for Beverly Hills Cop IIin which Brigitte Nielsen starred as Big (or at least Tall) Bad.
Pinchot appeared in the original film (and #3) as “Don’t Be.” Stupid” Serge, master of the lemon twist-turned-survival-kit salesman(?), while Reiser played Foley’s gullible sidekick at the Detroit PD.
No details have been released about the Netflix sequel, which is now in production.
Of some relevance, of course, CBS has tried to be that before Beverly Hills Cop Franchise to the smaller screen via a 2013 pilot starring Brandon T. Jackson (tropical thunder) as Axel Foley’s son Aaron. The pilot reportedly tested well, but ultimately died on the vine because Murphy (per a 2019 interview with our sister site IndieWire) refused to appear repeatedly on the show.
