Biden suspects “MAGA sympathizers” embedded in intelligence: book

President Joe Biden is concerned that suspected “MAGA sympathizers” are embedded in his intelligence security detail, according to a forthcoming book.

The Fight of His Life: Inside the Joe Biden White HouseWritten by journalist Chris Whipple and due to be released Jan. 17, it reportedly says the President distrusts the Secret Service because some of the agents support former President Donald Trump.

“A bigger problem was Biden’s discomfort with his intelligence detail; some of them were MAGA sympathizers,” Whipple writes aloud in the book The hill. “He didn’t trust you.”

Whipple writes that Biden has raised concerns that the Secret Service is being dominated by “white ex-cops from the South” who are “deeply conservative.”

The president’s assessment of law enforcement’s response to the Jan. 6 attack on the US Capitol and subsequent testimony before Congress allegedly led him to suspect that the agency was “both incompetent and politicized.”

“Surrounded by a new phalanx of strangers, Biden couldn’t help but wonder Do these people really want me here??” Whipple reportedly wrote.

According to the book, Biden also “didn’t buy the details” regarding a claim that his dog Major bit a Secret Service agent and insisted that “someone lied.”

Major reportedly bit both a Secret Service agent and a National Park Service employee in March 2021. The dog was trained after the incidents but left the White House the following December following the “collective recommendation” of experts.

The secret service refused Newsweeks Soliciting comments on the President’s remarks in the book on the agency.

During his presidency, Biden has spoken increasingly of dangers posed by “MAGA Republicans.”

The president argued that Trump-supporting Republican extremists could set the country on a “sliding path to oblivion” during a fiery Labor Day speech in Pennsylvania.

Biden warned that MAGA Republicans who refuse to accept that Trump lost the 2020 election and “support violence if [they] doesn’t like the result of an election” could eventually destroy democracy.

The president also said that MAGA Republicans who oppose his victory over Trump make up only a “minority” of the GOP. In fact, polls have consistently shown that a majority of Republicans do not accept the election results.

Biden’s criticism of Trump’s MAGA movement received some predictable backlash from conservatives, prompting the president to clarify that he “does not see any Trump supporter as a threat to the country.”

However, some have credited Biden’s anti-MAGA stance with helping Democrats achieve a better-than-expected result in November’s midterm elections and suggested the rhetoric continued.

“During three election cycles, Americans have had the opportunity to vote for the MAGA agenda, and the agenda has clearly failed,” said political analyst Fernand Amandi news week in November.

“It would be foolish for Democrats not to use the term MAGA Republican because it has been so successful,” Amandi added.
