“Big Brother” controversies over the years
Controversy is nothing new to us Big Brother.
The series has been criticized for racism and discrimination over the years and caused quite a stir with an incident in season 15. During the 2013 season Aaron Gries called Asian people “squint-eyed”, called her roommate black Candice Stewart “Aunt Jemima” and asked her Korean roommate Helen Kim “Go and make some rice”.

“I took it personally,” the host said at the time. The really sad thing about it was that it took me back to the 70’s growing up in Queens when I was 7 and being bullied… Then I felt ignorant. Are there still people who feel like this? Yes there is.”
