Blue’s Clues Steve Burns Returns Movie Release Date Trailer

Steve Burns just can’t leave Blue.

The original Blues Notes Host appears alongside successors Donovan Patton (Joe) and Josh Dela Cruz (Josh) in the trailer for Blues adventures in the big citywhich is the first feature-length film in the popular children’s series.

There “they meet new friends and discover the magic of music, dance and dreams,” according to the official logline.

The streamer describes the film as “a sing-along, dance-along musical extravaganza for the whole family, featuring all-new songs and choreography featuring the show’s beloved hosts and fan-favorite cartoon characters.” BD Wong (Law and order: SVU), Ali Stroker (Only murders in the building), Alex Winters (Bill & Ted’s excellent adventure), Phillipa Soo (Intoxicated) and Steven Pasquale (The good wife) all occur.

Blues Notes debuted on Nick Jr. on September 8, 1996, when Burns guided preschoolers through a series of mysteries with the help of his animated dog, Blue. It was a huge hit, but Burns left the show in 2002, handing over the helm of host to Steve’s brother Joe (played by Patton). The show lasted until 2006 and was relaunched as Blues Notes & You! in 2019. Burns and Patton returned for the first episode via Handy Dandy Smartphone, but Blues adventures in the big city marks the first time all three hosts have appeared side-by-side in character.

More recently, Burns repeated in honor of Steve Blues Notes“25th anniversary. After the video went viral, Burns appeared on CBS. The late show with Stephen Colbert (Look here). He’s since amassed more than 1.5 million TikTok followers thanks to a steady stream of videos of him sitting quietly and letting longtime fans “talk to him” while calm music plays in the background. (It’s basically free therapy for millennials.)
