Teddy Lasso Star (and Muppet fanatic) Brett Goldstein has finally hit the road Sesame Street He was first teased by HBO Max on Thursday, nearly a year after his appearance. In the episode – you can watch Goldstein’s segment above – Elmo and Grover decide to play a game of hide and seek, but forget to tell Goldstein they’ve started.
Goldstein eventually encounters a kindred spirit, Oscar the Grouch, who, with the help of a familiar-looking sign, tells him to scramble. The two then exchange grunts, and we’re calling it now: There won’t be a major moment on TV this year. Or this decade.
“I’ve finally found my way Sesame Street…and it was more wonderful than I could have imagined,” Goldstein wrote in a previous Instagram post. “Everyone was so funny and brilliant and friendly and kind. I managed to say hello to all residents except Snufflelupagus who was sleeping…. Truly a beautiful cast and crew filling this whole street with all the love one could ask for.”
Goldstein, who took home back-to-back Emmys for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series in 2021 and 2022, has been vocal about his admiration for all things Jim Henson. “That’s my ultimate goal, working with the Muppets,” he said esquire 2020. “If I do that, I’m dead.”
In 2017, he performed a six-minute one-man rendition of A Muppet Christmas carol at a Parkinson’s UK fundraiser, seen here in all its glory.
As for Teddy Lassowe’re still waiting on a season 3 premiere date. Quiet.
