Can yours be shiny on Pokemon Go Community Day in June?

On Pokemon Go Community Day in June, Deino is the featured Pokemon, and there are tons of rewards and bonuses up for grabs.

There have been a number of changes to Community Days in Pokemon Go lately, and fans haven’t been too thrilled with the revamped event. The duration of the event has been significantly reduced and now only lasts four hours. With so little time available to the players, most of them are unable to complete the tasks and make the most of the event.

This month Niantic brought Deino to Community Day and the tasks got easier for players to complete them on time. As part of the event, players will have a chance to catch a Hydreigon, a pseudo-legendary Pokémon, with a special moveset. Players can obtain a Hydreigon simply by evolving a Deino or by obtaining the Special Research Ticket and getting a guaranteed encounter.

One of the questions players usually have during this event is whether or not the featured Pokemon can be shiny. Well the good news is that there is a shiny variant of Deino in the game. If you’ve seen the regular Deino, you might be familiar with its color scheme, which is blue and black. When it comes to the shiny Deino, it’s green in color instead of blue, making it quite different from its non-shiny counterpart.

The bad news is that the shiny rates stay the same, so you won’t have a better chance of catching the Pokemon you’re looking for. However, Shiny Hunt is still worth trying considering that the Pokemon’s spawn rate increases quite a bit.
