CDCR officials are searching for inmates who exited the Los Angeles reentry program

LOS ANGELES (KABC) — State authorities are searching for an inmate who exited a re-entry program in Los Angeles on Saturday.
Carlos Montes, 30, disappeared from the Male Community Reentry Program in Los Angeles.
Montes was serving a five-year sentence for second-degree robbery and dodging or attempting to dodge a peace officer while driving recklessly.
It wasn’t immediately clear how much time was left for his sentence, but the MCRP is a voluntary program designed to provide a transition for inmates who have between 60 days and two years left to serve. The program provides them with services to help them re-enter society, including substance abuse and mental health support.
California Department of Justice officials say an alarm went off from Monte’s surveillance device around 4:30 p.m. Saturday and they were unable to locate him at the facility.
Montes is 5’7″ and weighs 164 pounds. He was last seen in a burgundy shirt and denim shorts.
Anyone who sees him should call 911.
