Celebrity SAS fans revel in a brutal boxing match as ‘tearful’ Matt Hancock is pummeled by Jermaine Pennant

CELEBRITY SAS fans enjoyed the first episode of the new series and enjoyed the teary-eyed brutal boxing match between Jermaine Pennant and Matt Hancock.
Some viewers even said they “wish” they were the former footballer as he spectacularly bashed the former health minister in tonight’s episode.
A new season of Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins started tonight. The Channel 4 show welcomed 16 new contestants including former health secretary Matt Hancock, actress Kirsty-Leigh Porter, ex-footballer Jermaine Pennant, rugby legend Gareth Thomas and TV presenter Danielle Lloyd, comedian Zoe Lyons and pop star Michelle Heaton.
Matt, 44, came into the show with a strong sense of self-confidence, which the director (DS) initially thought was promising.
But as the DS promised, the show pushes contestants to their limits in ways that are “their worst nightmare.”
Matt was reduced to tears in the show’s first episode as he teamed up with 40-year-old Jermaine for a boxing match.
It didn’t take long for Jermaine to take his opponent to the ground and some fans enjoyed the fight while the DS branded him a “fucking loser”.
“Seeing Matt Hancock get beaten on the prominent SAS who dares to win is a thing of joy,” one SAS fan said on social media.
“Celebrity SAS… how satisfying to see Matt Hancock brought to Earth!” added another.
While a third commented: “Watching Hancock get beaten up is great television.”
“5 million people just wish they were Jermaine Pennant!!!!” added a fourth.
Another viewer thought Matt was a little teary-eyed after his beating, but suggested it was just for show.
“Oh Jesus Christ, here we go. Shout out to the cameras Matt Hancock. Let your PR tears flow,” the post says.
Matt’s failure at the boxing challenge came after a “catastrophic failure” at the trainasium exercise just minutes into the episode.
One of the show’s DS called him a “complete idiot” for his Cirque du Soleil-style descent from the aerial routine.
Afterwards, the former politician’s resolve faltered and he admitted that he had let himself down.
He admitted that things were going as well as he had hoped.
“I let myself down a few times,” he said. “I put in a lot of effort.”
The episode also pushed some of the other recruits to their limits, with pop star Michelle Heaton almost immediately bursting into tears.
“I enjoy being scared. I just know I’m going to like it,” she had said in the confessional interviews a few minutes earlier.

But after she laughed incessantly, the DS told her off and Michelle burst into tears, fearing she would already hate her.
Celebrity SAS continues on Sunday at 9pm on Channel 4.
