Channing Tatum Stans will cry over Canceled Gambit Movie concept art

You just can’t escape the ghosts Channing Tatum Movies passed, at least not this one. As the X-Men Fandom looks to the green pastures of Marvel Studios, they are once again reminded of his cancellation gambit Film with what appears to be storyboarded concept art from the storied film.

The images don’t reveal much, aside from what appears to be a pre-superhero Gambit wearing a tank top and using his powers to detonate a liquor bottle. Still, it will be enough to make Tatum believers weep over what could have been. Then again, they haven’t stopped mourning the loss since Disney officially canceled the film three years ago. Some even hope dead pool 3 and the MCU multiverse will at least give us a glimpse of Tatum’s Gambit.

At the time, Fox was churning out the unfortunate X-Men movies. Despite landing on hits with both Dead Pool movies & loganthe end of fox verse saw such facepalm inducing movies as X-Men: Apocalypse and New mutants, which wrapped just before the Disney acquisition. Under the Fox banner, Tatum was officially cast as X-Men resident ragin’ Cajun Remy LeBeau. After he co-wrote the script and was ready to star in his first superhero film, Marvel Studios decided not to go with Gambit.

Since then, Tatum has said the news left him completely disheveled and heartbroken, much like his fans. He reportedly threw a chair across the room when he received the news that the film had been cancelled. Tatum tells diversity that the cancellation had traumatized him and that he couldn’t bring himself to watch a Marvel movie.

“I turned off my Marvel machine. I couldn’t see any of the films. i loved this character. It was just too sad. It was like losing a friend because I was so willing to play him.”

Despite being built like a superhero, Tatum is not known for his critically acclaimed performances. However, the prospect of Magic Mike Star doing an over-the-top Louisiana bayou accent is enough to pique curiosity. Whether this intrigue would have been for a potential movie train wreck or simply for the die-hard Tatum fans who can’t get enough of his boyish charm, we’ll never know.

For his part, the actor has not given up playing Gambit. When asked if he might get a second chance at the role, his answer was crystal clear. “Uh, yeah, I’d like to play Gambit,” he said diversity.

With this speed, Tatum’s Gambit film rises to the mythical level of Nicolas Cage’s canceled film Superman lives. Somewhere out there Kevin Smith is warming up his next documentary. Channing Tatum Stans will cry over Canceled Gambit Movie concept art
