Check out Thursday’s riddle answers and clues

Wordle is the viral word game available on The New York Times Website that reliably arrives every day for puzzle fans to try.

Wordle has a wonderfully simple premise, with the puzzle challenging players to guess a five-letter word in no more than six guesses.

The best way to guarantee success in the game is to pay close attention to the color of the tiles after each guess.

If a tile turns grey, the corresponding letter will not appear anywhere in the answer.

If the guessed letter is only in one other position in the solution, the tile turns light yellow.

But if Wordle players are lucky or smart enough and the tile turns green, they know for sure that the letter is in the answer and in exactly the right position.

Wordle maintains a comprehensive record of each player’s stats, detailing how many correct answers they received and how long their winning streak lasts.

PR pro Jo Jessop-Maloney loves how the online exercise activates her brain.

she said news week: “As a graduate in English and a communication and PR expert, I love words.

“I love to write, I love to read, I love to learn new words, I love to learn about the origins and evolution of words, so when Wordle came along – I loved it!

“I’ve been playing Wordle daily for a couple of months now and I’m enjoying how fast it plays, that it’s not timed out so you can think about your answer – feels like cracking a code, me.” love how it’s easy one a day and how it gets the brain pumping.”

world origins

This classic puzzler was created by an East Coast-based software developer in collaboration with his partner in the depths of the pandemic.

Josh Wardle created the guessing game as an affair of the heart for the two.

But after playing Wordle, the game quickly gained traction in his family and it soon spread far and wide.

As early as November 2021, fewer than a hundred people are believed to have played it, but two months later more than 300,000 were playing, according to the puzzle’s current owners The New York Times. It is believed that there are millions of players today.

Since its release, Wordle has inspired several other daily puns ending in “dle” in homage to the original, such as Quordle, Octordle, and worldly.
