Chicago Fire: Hawkins in Season 11 Episode 3: Jimmy Nicholas Leaves

“Completely Shattered” was Wednesday’s title Chicago firebut it was also an apt description of viewers’ reaction to the lesson.

The episode ended with the tragic death of paramedic Evan Hawkins, played by Jimmy Nicholas. The actor, who joined the NBC drama last season, took to social media on Wednesday after his character was leaked to grieving fans.

“Take a deep breath and we’ll see it through together,” Nicholas wrote Twitter late wednesday. He also thanked fans for their “incredibly kind” messages of support after the episode, adding, “I feel really spoiled and incredibly grateful.”

On Wednesday’s episode, Firehouse 51 was called to the scene of a movie theater fire with four alerts. Hawkins is caught in an avalanche of debris while attempting to rescue a trapped man. Despite Violet’s (Hanako Greensmith) efforts to save him, Hawkins dies.

Taking to Instagram Thursday morning, Nicholas called out to his leading lady and wrote, “My girl Hanako was sensational wasn’t she?”
