Sell sunset Star Chrishell Stause has slammed Adam Levine for the language of his statement amid allegations he cheated on his wife Behati Prinsloo.
Maroon 5 frontman Levin, 43, became a trending topic on social media on Monday after Instagram model Sumner Stroh claimed in a viral TikTok video that she had a year-long affair with the musician.
The 23-year-old model and influencer also shared screenshots of messages she claimed were from Levine, including one in which he asked if he could name his expected third child after her.
former The voice Trainer Levine broke his silence on Tuesday, issuing a statement on an Instagram Story in which he denied having an affair, though he admitted he “crossed the line” in his communications.
“There’s a lot of talk about me right now and I want to get a taste of it,” wrote the singer. “I used poor judgment when speaking to anyone other than my wife for ANY type of flirtation.
“I didn’t have an affair, yet I crossed a line at an unfortunate time in my life. In certain cases it became inappropriate; I have addressed this and taken proactive steps with my family to rectify this.”
“My wife and family are all I care about in this world,” he said. “Being so naive and stupid enough to risk the only thing that really matters to me was the biggest mistake I could ever make. I’ll never do it again. I take full responsibility. We’ll make it. And we will make it.” it together.”
Dancing with the stars Alum Stause, 41, was among the myriad social media users who responded to Levine’s statement when she expressed objection to his use of a specific word.
“When I publicly apologize for cheating I hate it – we will get through it together if we break up with a man,” she wrote on Twitter. “Don’t speak for her. You’ve done enough.”
After the tweet racked up more than 19,000 likes in a matter of hours, a Levine Twitter user replied, “I want to hear, ‘Definitely, I’m a villain. I’m gross and incredibly disrespectful. Now I’ll strive to stop being all those things. I am very sorry.”
“No notes,” TV personality Stause wrote back, along with two applause emojis.
Straw was also unimpressed by Levine’s statement and wrote in an Instagram post on Tuesday: “Somebody get this man a dictionary.”
In a screenshot Stroh shared in her TikTok video, a text message purportedly from Levine in June 2022 read, “It’s really unreal how freaking hot you are, like it’s blowing my mind.”
Another message shared by Stroh read: “Okay, serious question. I’m having another baby and if it’s a boy I really want to name him Sumner. Do you agree?
The social media post was shared days after Victoria’s Secret model Prinsloo, 34, who has been married to Levine for eight years, shared photos on Instagram confirming that she and her musician husband are expecting their third child together.
In the video, Stroh went on to say that she was “completely manipulated” by Levine, adding in a follow-up video that she felt Levine and Prinsloo’s marriage was over.
“In retrospect, I wish I had questioned things more. I wish I hadn’t been so naive, but naivety is no excuse for what I did and the role I played in it,” Stroh said in the second video.
“Again, I was in no way trying to gain sympathy and I fully understand that I am not the victim. I’m not the one who’s really getting hurt here, it’s Behati and her kids, and for that I have ‘I’m so, so sorry,'” she added.
