Cool and wet to start the work week

COLUMBUS, Ga. (WRBL) — Keep umbrellas and raincoats handy as rain and cooler temperatures are forecast for the first half of the workweek.

Scattered showers and occasional thunder are forecast for today. We’re likely to see a few light showers shortly after the morning commute, but will become more sporadic around midday. Clouds and showers will keep us cool, with highs in the mid to some upper 70’s.

Tuesday will see another round of isolated showers, this time we will struggle to get from the upper 60s into the lower 70s. On Wednesday afternoon and evening it will dry out as cloud cover begins to recede and the temperature will warm slightly to 70°C, but below the average for this time of year.

Total rainfall will be between 1 and 2 inches over the next few days, with locally higher amounts, particularly south of Columbus.
