‘Danger!’ Fans raved about the Current Slang category, including the “Yeet” response

Danger! ventured into various categories over the course of its long run. However, some of them catch the attention of audiences for a variety of different reasons. Season 39 premiered on TV in September 2022, but it was already starting to generate online chatter based on some of its more unique categories. Danger! introduced the “Current Slang” category where one of the responses was “yeet” and social media can’t stop talking about it.
‘Danger!’ has some common categories to which it returns

There’s a lot of variety when it comes to that Danger! Categories even before Current Slang took over the board. However, there are some common categories returning to the popular game show. According to Slate, there are some repeat categories in different aspects of the show.
Considering all rounds, the categories are: Before & After, Literature, Science, Origins of the World, American History, State Capitals, World History, Economy & Industry, Potpourri, and World Geography.
Some of these also find their way into the most popular ones Danger! Category in the main part of the show, as well as “Doubles” and “Finals” rounds. Many of these make sense, since such as science and literature lend themselves to a wide range of answers that appear on the board.
‘Danger!’ added ‘yeet’ to the current slang category
That Danger! Season 39 Episode 7 shared the replies and replies from the Current Slang category where social media speaks. These are all terms that either Millennials or Generation Z are more likely to understand or use as part of their everyday language. The status is: “Move over Urban Dictionary, we go this one.”
Contestants Juliana Marmon, Kelly Shannon-Henderson and Emmett Stanton performed during the Double Jeopardy! Round where they came across Current Slang.
For $400, the answer was, “This seven-letter adjective means both dehydrated and too eager for approval,” to which Kelly correctly responded, “What’s thirsty?”
For $800, the answer was, “This Italian fashion house’s name means stylish or all is well.” Emmett correctly answered, “What is Gucci?”
Co-host Ken Jennings moved on to $1,200, reading, “A drama queen could be described with that three-letter word. Also a genre of music.” The correct answer is “What is emo?” but no one has bothered to try.
The $1,600 response read, “It sounds like it means ‘stolen,’ but that eight-letter compliment means your style is wild.” Kelly correctly replied, “What’s being snatched?”
Eventually, the $2,000 answer was, “‘Y’ is that four-letter word that can mean ‘toss’ or a joyful throw-in.” Kelly correctly responded once again with “What’s up?” and a laugh.
Fans react to the new category
Danger! Fans had many reactions to the Current Slang category. Some people understandably did not know or understand many of these terms or how they relate to everyday speech. Still, some fans took to social media to share their excitement about the category.
Several replies stated that it never occurred to them that “What’s Next?” would ever end up on the game show. Others call it their favorite answer of all time, especially the chance to hear Jennings read those terms aloud.
